Ok, so there are quite a few books and websites out by vegan athletes. Guys like Rich Roll, Frank Medrano, Brendan Brazier and so on. This is an awesome trend, and has inspired even hardcore meat eaters like my former self to switch to a 100% plant based diet. But while they're incredibly inspirational and even have some recipes and sample days of eating (for that person of course) there has been a big gaping hole in terms of a simple how-to. They leave you hanging by basically leaving it to you to figure out how much of what to eat for your goals.Enter this excellent how-to. It gets right down to business. Simple formulas to determine how many cals to eat and what your macros should be. How to eat and lift to gain muscle with minimal fat gain. How to cut fat step by step, week by week to lower your bodyfat and get shredded. No vagueness, it's a manual. And of course everyone is different and responds differently. But that doesn't mean say try every approach. Marcella and Derek give you a proven method and mention how to experiment based on your results. And it's detailed in how to, not just 'If this doesn't work try reducing calories' it's 'if this doesn't work drop 200 more calories and measure again after a week. If that doesn't work add more of this type of cardio.'
I love that it's light on supplements and heavy on real food. I love that it's a no shortcuts or gimmicks method. It's about doing it right for specific goals but also lifelong health. Highly, highly recommended.

The Vegan Muscle Fitness Guide to Bodybuilding Competitions edition by Marcella Torres CPT Derek Tresize Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
I have recently decided to become a vegan. I have always had a passion for animals and after watching several documentaries I chose this route. The other route was juicing but I train for powerlifting and didn't feel that it was a safe route for me. This book is 90% complete in my opinion. I am transitioning to bodybuilding so many some of the general groundwork information may not be there. It does have some really good meal plans the only part I felt that was missing was to figure out your base calories based on whether or not you wanted to lose weight or gain weight. This has enough information for a male or female.
Excellent book! Chalk full of hints and tip for what worked for this amazing couple! I'm thrilled to have this book as a resource to help toward my vegan bodybuilding endevours! Excellent work guys!! Thank you for writing this book!
Great break down off what to do and when.I do wish it had more recipes...which is where I get stuck.
Great recipes and understanding of the world of vegan. Yes, you can get enough protein.
Great info for a beginner, although you'll need to do further research for some questions you may have. I would recommend this book as a good starting point for those interested in vegan bodybuilding.
This book changed my entire views on body building. Because of this book I am very interested in vegan body building and I have made many of the recipes in this book. The lentil broccoli soup and the Cajun tofu are my favorites!!! Most definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in the world of vegan body building - great recipes and workouts included. The authors are so approachable and relatable.
Compared to many of its counterparts it reads like an instruction manual which is really great if you want to know the in and outs of vegan bodybuilding. I loved that it was written as if a trainer was talking to you here is where we are this is where we want to go and and this is how we do it! Just a great flow of useful information in a readable format! Honestly this should be your first book to read them build your knowledge with other helpful information this book gives
